flattening

Once we had records.
We had books.
We had photo albums.
My childhood nostalgia is mixed up in a memory of pre-digtal objects.

We call on our collective memory, knowledge and the vast library of media for our instant gratification.
We store things in an imaginary space and pull them out when desired.
Can we do this with architecture?
Can we create on-demand space, stretch it out and put it away?
Flatten it into an ever shrinking storage device?

Flattening was an interactive experience for people to stretch and shape the outlines of a space.
To mock up the framework, to imagine a flexible and manipulatable architecture.
When does space become defined?
Is it the walls, the frame?
Where is that moment between not existing and existing?
